Privacy Policy

Effective May 19, 2026. Pocketboy is built by Hankinsoft Development, Inc. We don’t track you, we don’t sell data, and we don’t run analytics. This page describes the minimum we do collect and why.

The short version

• No accounts. Pocketboy has no sign-in. We never see who you are.
• No analytics or tracking. The app does not call requestTrackingAuthorization and serves only non-personalized banner ads on the free tier.
• iCloud is your storage. Save states, battery RAM, cheats, and slot thumbnails sync via your own iCloud Drive container. We never see them.
• Premium is StoreKit. Subscription receipts are handled by Apple. We never see your payment method.

What the app collects

Pocketboy collects no data on Hankinsoft servers. The third‑party components below do collect limited data on their own systems:

Google AdMob (free tier only)

Free‑tier users see a single banner ad on the library and gameplay screens. Premium users see no ads.

• Mode: non‑personalized only. We never call requestTrackingAuthorization, so AdMob falls back to IDFV (per-app device identifier, not the cross-app IDFA).
• Collected by Google on their end: crash diagnostics and performance metrics for the ad SDK itself.
• Not collected for tracking: nothing is linked to data from other apps, websites, or data brokers.
• Google’s policy: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

StoreKit (Apple, when you purchase Premium)

If you start a Premium subscription or buy the lifetime upgrade, the purchase is handled by Apple’s StoreKit. Hankinsoft receives a payout summary from Apple, never your payment method, name, or address. Apple’s policy: apple.com/legal/privacy.

iCloud Drive (Apple, your own storage)

If you’re signed into iCloud and have Drive enabled, Pocketboy writes your save states, battery RAM, cheats, and slot thumbnails into your iCloud ubiquity container (iCloud.com.hankinsoft.pocketboy). The files live in your iCloud account and sync between your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Hankinsoft has no access to them.

URL imports (only when you ask)

If you use the “Import from URL…” flow to download a ROM archive, the request goes directly from your device to the server you typed. No proxy. No log. Hankinsoft never sees the URL or the file.

Required-reason API declarations

The app ships an Apple PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy manifest declaring its use of two required-reason APIs:

• File timestamps (category C617.1 + 3B52.1) — we read modification dates on save-state files inside the app’s own iCloud container to render the “last saved” line under each slot.
• UserDefaults (category CA92.1) — first-party preferences only (hidden ROM list, current palette, premium-entitlement cache, etc.).

Children

Pocketboy is rated 4+. It collects no personal information and shows non-personalized ads only on the free tier.

Your rights

Because we don’t collect first-party data, there’s nothing on our side to access, correct, or delete. If you’d like AdMob to forget your device identifier, reset your Apple ID’s advertising identifier in Settings › Privacy & Security › Apple Advertising. To remove iCloud-synced Pocketboy data, delete the files in iCloud Drive or sign out of iCloud.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything, we’ll update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced in the app’s release notes.
